In September 1948, Normand Chamberland ran a series of articles in The Woonsocket Call which purported to provide a history of Albion in what he called its bicentennial year. The following page is a transcription of the 11-part series. I include it here because it is the only attempt so far to delve into the different aspects of what made Albion what it was up to that time.
Unfortunately, the “history” is full of errors, and like much that was written by others before, it contains few if any references to primary sources that would verify what has been said. Still, it is an interesting read, and a good jumping off point for further investigation.
